Three police officers lost their lives and no fewer than 15 others sustained injuries in an apparently deliberate detonation from gas at a country home in northern Italy.

Sequence of Events

The blast took place as officers and emergency crews approached the residence close to the city of Verona to execute an removal notice for a brother and sister trio who were older adults.

All three officers killed served in the Carabinieri military police.

Investigation Developments

A man and a woman got detained at the site and one more individual who ran away after the incident was located not long after. Each of them have been taken to hospital.
